West Ham bids €17.5 million for AZ striker Troy Parrott

West Ham United has reportedly submitted a bid of approximately €17.5 million to AZ Alkmaar for striker Troy Parrott. While West Ham may increase this offer to over €20 million, AZ technical director Niels van Duinen is reportedly holding out for a transfer record of €30 million.

Parrott, an Irish forward who scored 31 goals last season, is highly sought after due to his 'homegrown status' for English clubs. FC Porto is also cited as a serious competitor for his signature, though they have not made an official bid.

AZ coach Leeroy Echteld has acknowledged Parrott's desire to transfer. The player has expressed his commitment to giving his all for AZ during his remaining time at the club, despite his intent to move.
