West Ham United pursues Troy Parrott as transfer looms

West Ham United are making a concerted effort to sign 24‑year‑old Irish striker Troy Parrott from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. The Hammers, recently relegated to the Championship, view Parrott – who has scored 51 goals in 96 appearances for AZ and 11 goals for the Republic of Ireland – as a key addition to boost their attack in a push for promotion back to the Premier League.

Parrott, a former Tottenham Hotspur player who spent time on loan at several English clubs, could command a fee around £25 million. Tottenham retain a 20 % sell‑on clause, meaning they stand to receive roughly £5 million if the deal goes through. West Ham have already generated funds this summer by selling Mateus Fernandes to Spurs and Crysencio Summerville to Al Hilal, positioning them to meet the expected price tag.
