India to host West Indies for eight-match white-ball series

India will host the West Indies for an eight-match white-ball series consisting of three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five T20Is, running from September 27 to October 17, 2026. The ODI matches are scheduled for Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati, and New Chandigarh, while the T20I series will take place in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

Shubman Gill will captain the Indian ODI squad, with KL Rahul serving as vice-captain. The squad features the return of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who will participate in the three ODI matches but not the T20I series following their retirement from that format. Ravindra Jadeja also returns to the ODI setup. Several regular players, including Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer, are absent due to the Asian Games.

West Indies will be led by Shai Hope for both formats. The West Indies squad includes the return of John Campbell, while Shimron Hetmyer is expected to join for the T20I portion of the tour. The series serves as a key preparation period for India ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup and for West Indies as they navigate their ICC qualification cycle.
