West Java MoUs Connect Schools and University with Industry and BPJS for Student Futures

The West Java provincial government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a group of industry players to integrate the province’s Sekolah Manusia Unggul (Maung) network of 13 vocational high schools (SMKs) with the labour market. The agreement, attended by 26 business representatives from companies such as PT Solu Filantropi Teknologi, PT Usaha Adi Sanggoro, Hotel Novotel Bogor and PT Sepa Coklat Indonesia, aims to align curricula with the needs of an estimated 1,123 potential industries in the region and to prepare students for the country’s projected demographic dividend by 2045.

Separately, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) and the social‑security agency BPJS Ketenagakerjaan signed an MoU and a cooperation agreement to extend BPJS coverage to non‑civil‑servant staff, interns and students participating in Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN). The partnership, signed by BPJS Director Saiful Hidayat and UPI Rector Prof. Dr. H. Didi Sukyadi, will also promote social‑security literacy among the roughly 1,147 students currently undertaking teaching practice in West Java schools. Both initiatives are intended to create a “living lab” for students, improve employability, and boost community outreach on labour‑related benefits.
