West Mani faces ambulance shortage after vehicle accident

The Agios Nikolaos Health Center in West Mani is currently without a functional ambulance following a recent road accident. The vehicle involved in the crash may be a total loss. While no injuries were reported in the accident, the incident has left the region facing a critical gap in emergency medical coverage.

An attempt to provide a temporary replacement from Pylos has also encountered issues. The replacement vehicle, which had been stationary for a long period, has been sent to a workshop for mechanical inspections to determine if it is safe for service. Consequently, the area remains without a reliable emergency transport option. Local volunteers from ‘GAIA – Volunteers of Civil Protection of West Mani’ are calling on authorities to immediately secure a new, modern, and reliable ambulance to prevent a recurrence of previous years of struggle to obtain medical equipment.
