West Papua regional authorities manage funds and land reform
The Manokwari State Treasury Service Office (KPPN) has distributed Rp5.94 trillion in regional transfer funds (TKD) to six local governments in West Papua Province between January and September 2026. This amount represents 68.18 percent of the total Rp8.71 trillion budget, showing a year-on-year growth of 19.24 percent.
Distribution included Rp2.34 trillion for the West Papua Provincial Government and Rp1.25 trillion for Teluk Bintuni Regency. Other recipients included Manokwari, Pegunungan Arfak, Teluk Wondama, and Manokwari Selatan. Among these, Manokwari Selatan recorded the highest realization at 81.17 percent, while the provincial government recorded the lowest at 58.27 percent. The funds consist of revenue sharing, general allocation funds, special autonomy funds, and village funds.
Separately, the West Papua National Land Agency (BPN) is integrating data regarding agrarian reform objects to manage settlements within forest areas and local government assets. This initiative involves mapping potential land for reform, including former land use rights (HGU) from PT Coklat Ransiki, to ensure legal alignment and economic growth through proper land arrangement.
