West Sumatra and East Java Brace for Heavy Rain and Dense Fog, BMKG Forecast Shows

Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued a weather outlook for West Sumatra covering June 13‑15, 2026. The agency warned that the Mentawai Islands, Pasaman Barat, Agam, Padang Pariaman, Pesisir Selatan, and surrounding districts could experience moderate to heavy rain, with the potential for localized flooding. Residents were urged to stay alert to the heightened risk of intense precipitation.

Separately, BMKG's Juanda office released a forecast for the Malang region for June 13‑14, 2026. The area is expected to remain overcast, with thick fog developing in city districts such as Blimbing, Klojen, Lowokwaru and in high‑land districts of the surrounding regency. Light rain may affect parts of Jabung and Tumpang, while humidity could reach up to 98 %. Authorities advised the public to increase vigilance, especially during the evening hours when fog is expected to be most pronounced.
