West Tripura to begin electoral roll revision on September 5

The West Tripura district administration has announced that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will begin on September 5. The process is designed to create a clean, accurate, and updated electoral register by ensuring eligible Indian citizens remain on the roll while removing duplicate, fake, or ineligible entries.

District Magistrate and Collector Vishal Kumar stated that the exercise will be conducted in a transparent and participatory manner, involving political parties and other stakeholders. During the revision, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will assist voters with forms and the verification process. Following the revision, a draft electoral roll will be published for public scrutiny, after which the administration will address claims and objections. The final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on December 23.
