Western Macedonia University gets top certification for 11 programs
Eleven study programmes at Greece’s University of Western Macedonia—four undergraduate and seven postgraduate—have been awarded the highest rating by the National Authority for Higher Education (ΕΘΑΑΕ). Independent evaluation panels from Greece and abroad assessed each programme’s curriculum, alignment with labour‑market needs, teaching quality, staff qualifications, facilities and mechanisms for continuous improvement.
The university indicated that the certification process is being completed progressively during the current academic year, with additional programmes slated for review. Vice‑Rector for Academic Affairs and Development Prof. Louta Malamati said, “Certification of study programmes is one of the most important quality‑assurance mechanisms, allowing us to systematically evaluate our work and continuously enhance the educational experience.” The accreditation confirms that the programmes meet high academic standards and remain responsive to scientific and professional developments.
