Greek university program accreditation

Overview

In July 2026 Greece’s National Authority for Higher Education continued its systematic quality‑assurance drive across the university sector. On 14 July, the University of Western Macedonia received the highest rating for eleven of its study programmes – a mix of undergraduate and postgraduate courses – after panels evaluated curriculum relevance, teaching quality and alignment with labour‑market needs. Fifteen days later, on 27 July, the Athens University of Economics and Business announced that all twenty‑nine of its postgraduate programmes had been fully accredited with an “Excellent” rating, making it one of the first Greek institutions to achieve full certification for every postgraduate offering. Both announcements underscore a broader trend of Greek universities securing top‑level accreditation to demonstrate academic standards and responsiveness to professional demands.
