WhatsApp introduces new group creation and poll features
WhatsApp is rolling out several new features to improve group management and interaction, currently being tested by beta users on Android.
One major update allows users to create smaller sub-groups from existing large chats without having to manually search for and add members again. This feature is designed to facilitate side discussions, such as event planning or specific task management, while keeping the original group intact.
Additionally, the platform is introducing a tool that enables the automatic creation of new groups based on poll results. If at least two members of a group vote for the same option in a poll, users can generate a new chat pre-populated with those specific voters.
Other enhancements to the poll system include the ability for creators to set voting deadlines and the option to hide the identities of participants to ensure privacy during voting processes.
