WhatsApp launches independent iPad app and adds parental‑control settings
WhatsApp released version 26.28.75 for iPad, allowing users to create and use a WhatsApp account directly on the tablet without linking to a phone. The update supports independent messaging, video calls with up to 32 participants, front and rear cameras, Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, and multitasking features such as Split View and Stage Manager.
A separate Android beta (2.26.29.5) introduces a "Parent controls" section in settings. Parents can link their account to a child’s account, view limited activity such as new contacts or unknown‑number requests, and manage those requests without accessing private messages. The feature rolls out gradually to beta testers and will expand to more users in coming weeks.
