WhatsApp rolls out AI tools and new privacy features

Starting January 15, 2026, WhatsApp began rolling out a significant update to its global user base of over two billion accounts. The update introduces artificial intelligence-based virtual assistants and advanced management tools for large groups.

The update also focuses on enhanced privacy controls. Users can now manage read receipts on an individual basis for specific conversations rather than a global setting.
