White House declassifies FBI documents regarding Trump-Russia probe

Declassified White House documents have provided new details regarding a 2017 FBI counterintelligence investigation into Donald Trump’s links to Russia. The documents reveal that the FBI had opened a separate, unusual investigation specifically targeting the sitting U.S. President, which was subsequently marginalized before it could be fully executed.

The Trump administration has released these previously classified FBI memoranda as part of an effort to support claims of a “deep state” attempting to undermine the presidency.
