White House launches Gold Eagle AI cybersecurity clearinghouse

The White House announced on July 14‑15, 2026 the creation of Gold Eagle, an artificial‑intelligence‑powered clearinghouse to coordinate the detection, validation, prioritisation and patching of software vulnerabilities across U.S. critical infrastructure. The program is built under Executive Order 14409 signed by President Donald Trump on June 2, which directed the Treasury Department, the Department of Homeland Security, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the National Security Agency and the newly named Department of War to develop a rapid‑response system. Gold Eagle will accept vulnerability reports from AI developers, open‑source software partners and private operators of hospitals, banks, utilities and other essential services, de‑conflict duplicate scanning efforts and accelerate remediation. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the initiative will safeguard the financial system, while Secretary of War Pete Hegseth called it a “wartime footing” for cyber defence and the vanguard of America’s cyber security. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin added that the partnership will strengthen software and network protections while advancing AI innovation. Participation is voluntary; no mandatory licensing or pre‑clearance is required. The goal is to give the government and industry a faster, coordinated channel to address AI‑accelerated cyber threats and protect national security and daily life.
