WHO and India provide emergency aid to Nepal following devastating floods

Following devastating floods in Nepal, the World Health Organization (WHO) and India have launched relief efforts to support affected communities. The WHO has released $150,000 in emergency funding to address immediate medical needs and is continuously assessing the situation for further resource requirements.

In addition to financial aid, the WHO has dispatched inter-agency emergency health supplies capable of supporting approximately 10,000 people for three months. This shipment includes essential items such as tents, 10,000 masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the organization's priority is to support affected communities and restore disrupted health services.

India has also contributed to the relief operations by sending 10 tons of humanitarian aid material and a medical team to Kathmandu to assist with the crisis.
