Whoosh high-speed rail reaches 18.2 million passengers

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has reached a milestone of 18.2 million passengers since commencing commercial operations on October 17, 2023. Over its three years of service, the Whoosh high-speed rail has seen daily trips increase from 14 to 62, with daily passenger volumes peaking at over 26,000.

To enhance connectivity for travelers, a new collaboration between Indonesian Immigration and KCIC was inaugurated on October 16, 2026. International passengers arriving in Indonesia can now book Whoosh tickets for travel to Bandung or Karawang directly through the ‘All Indonesia’ platform. This integration allows travelers to access high-speed rail booking via the same link used for immigration, customs, health, and quarantine declarations.

Data indicates significant interest from foreign travelers, with nearly 944,087 trips made by foreign nationals as of August 2026. The ‘All Indonesia’ platform has been utilized by over 29 million international passengers to facilitate arrival declarations.
