WiCi unveils Wi-Fi 7 wireless eGPU platform

American startup WiCi has unveiled the WiCi One, the world’s first wireless external graphics processing unit (eGPU) utilizing Wi-Fi 7 technology. Designed to eliminate the need for high-speed cables, the device functions as a complete workstation platform including a processor and storage.

The product is available in two primary configurations. The base model features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of memory, an Intel Core 3 100U processor, and 1TB of NVMe Gen 4 storage. A more powerful version is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 with 32GB of GDDR7, an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor, and 4TB of NVMe Gen 5 storage, specifically targeting AI workloads and 3D rendering.

While Wi-Fi 7 offers high theoretical speeds, the WiCi One’s 4x4 MIMO configuration reaches a maximum transfer rate of approximately 11.5 Gbps, which is lower than wired standards like Thunderbolt 5. To mitigate this bandwidth gap, WiCi employs proprietary protocols involving caching, data deduplication, and compression. The company claims the RTX 5060 Ti model can run Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K resolution with 80 FPS. Pre-order pricing starts at $1,999, with a general release expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
