Świdnica Deputy President receives 125,000 PLN in bonuses
Krystian Werecki, the First Deputy President of Świdnica, has received over 125,000 PLN gross in discretionary bonuses between 2024 and August 2026. Official documentation from the Municipal Office indicates these gratifications were often awarded for “exemplary performance of duties.”
Concerns have been raised regarding the nature of these payments. Some bonuses appear to overlap with existing job responsibilities or special allowances for “extra-programmatic” tasks. Specifically, Werecki received bonuses for overseeing waste management, a department where he also formally holds a director position.
Furthermore, while these bonuses were being issued, the Department of Spatial Planning and Architecture, which reports directly to him, faced significant safety negligence issues that are currently under investigation by the prosecutor's office. The investigation into municipal bonuses follows revelations regarding large sums of city funds allocated by President Beata Moskal-Słaniewska for employee recognition, many of which reportedly lacked the legally required documentation of specific achievements.
