Polish pilgrimages to Jasna Góra commence in August 2026

From 1 August 2026, several diocesan pilgrimages set out for the Jasna Góra sanctuary in Częstochowa. The 23rd Świdnicka pilgrimage, themed “Wpatrzeni w Maryję”, left the Świdnica cathedral with more than 400 walkers and will arrive on 8 August, welcomed by Bishop Marek Mendyk. The 50th Opole pilgrimage began on 16 August, with groups from Nysa, Prudnik, Kietrz, Ligota Turawska and other towns, concluding on 22 August after a mass at the shrine. Additional walks include the 46th Wrocław pilgrimage (3 August) and the 47th Orthodox youth pilgrimage, which recently concluded on the Grabarze hill. Bicycle pilgrimages also started on 2 August from Rogowo, Strzelno, Gniezno, Inowrocław and other locations, drawing dozens of cyclists and a motorbike group from Wylatowo. All events are organized by local parishes and diocesan offices, featuring masses, prayers, and spiritual conferences, and aim to unite thousands of faithful in a shared journey to the national Marian shrine.
