Świdnik couples honor 50‑plus years of marriage with ceremony and awards
In the plenary hall of Świdnik City Hall, couples who have been together for at least fifty years renewed their marriage vows in a public ceremony. The event marked the presentation of the state decoration “Za długoletnie pożycie małżeńskie,” awarded by the President of Poland and handed to the couples by Mayor Marcin Dmowski. Dmowski praised the milestone, noting that a fifty‑year marriage “is an undeniable achievement deserving special celebration.”
Among the couples honored were Anna and Ryszard Barczewscy (51 years), Henryka and Czesław Jaromin (51 years), Lidia and Kazimierz Kowal (51 years), Teresa and Jerzy Kwiatosz (51 years), Lucyna and Jan Papuga (51 years) and Hanna and Zbigniew Waligórscy (51 years). The ceremony also recognized earlier anniversaries, such as the 61‑year marriage of Bożena and Leszek Mucha.
Mayor Dmowski and civil‑registry official Izabela Pilecka congratulated the couples, wishing them continued health and happiness, and highlighted the enduring values of love, fidelity and friendship.
