Wild boars cause disruption and garden damage in Spanish urban areas

Wild boars have been sighted in urban areas of Galicia, Spain, causing both surprise and property damage. In the Compostilla neighborhood of Ponferrada, residents encountered a boar during a nighttime walk in a local park.

In Ferrol, a larger group of up to twelve boars was spotted in the A Magdalena and Ferrol Vello neighborhoods. The animals moved through Plaza de Galicia and the Jofre Theater area before entering landscaped zones to forage. The incursion caused significant damage to the San Francisco gardens, where municipal workers had to level the ground after the grass was destroyed. Local authorities noted that while wildlife incursions into urban green spaces like Raíña Sofía or Amboage are not uncommon, the scale of this particular event was substantial.
