Ukrainian drone and airstrikes are targeting Wildberries, Russia’s largest e-commerce platform, causing significant damage to its infrastructure. Since mid-July, Kyiv has targeted at least 23 facilities, resulting in the deaths of nine workers and the destruction of numerous warehouses.

Ukrainian intelligence services estimate the company has lost at least 20% of its storage capacity and has incurred losses exceeding 100 billion rubles (over 1 billion euros). Some estimates suggest total financing needs could reach 1.3 trillion rubles. Wildberries is a major economic entity, accounting for approximately 10% of all Russian retail sales.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has justified the strikes by alleging that Wildberries stores military supplies and drone components for Russian forces. Tatyana Kim, the billionaire co-founder and Russia’s richest woman, has condemned the actions as ‘terrorist attacks,’ arguing that the platform sells standard consumer goods similar to those found on Amazon or Alibaba.
