Wildberries logistics hub hit by Ukrainian drone strikes in Voronezh
A series of Ukrainian drone strikes on August 11 targeted critical Russian infrastructure, most notably a massive Wildberries logistics hub in the Voronezh region. The facility, located in the village of Aleksandrovka, is a major distribution center covering approximately 153,000 square meters and capable of storing over 90 million products. The attack triggered large-scale fires affecting tens of thousands of square meters of warehouse space.
Voronezh Oblast Governor Alexander Gusev reported that approximately 15 drones targeted the region. While officials claimed air defenses intercepted the drones, the resulting debris caused one fatality and two injuries. Wildberries confirmed the hit and stated that employees were evacuated according to safety protocols.
The strikes are part of an intensifying campaign by Ukraine against Russia's logistics and energy sectors. Since mid-July, Ukrainian forces have reportedly struck around 20 Wildberries facilities across various Russian regions, including St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, causing significant financial losses and damaging a substantial portion of the company's total warehouse capacity.
Simultaneous attacks also targeted energy infrastructure further afield, including a refinery in Orsk and reports of fires at facilities in the Russian Far East and Irkutsk region, demonstrating the broad geographic reach of the current drone operations.
