Wildfire in Kanthi Megaron, Greece, Forces Rescue of Three Horses

A large wildfire erupted in the Kanthi Megaron area of Greece, spreading toward the nearby village of Agia Skepsi. Firefighters concentrated their efforts on two hotspots, at Agios Nektarios and Kanthi Megaron, while issuing evacuation orders for residents of Skepsi, Kanthi and Botsika and directing them toward Nea Peramo.

Video from the fire front showed three horses – two adults and a younger one – fleeing the flames in panic. All three animals were successfully rescued by emergency crews as the blaze continued to threaten the surrounding countryside.
