Wildfire spreads near Sortelha, Portugal

A wildfire broke out near Sortelha, Portugal, spreading rapidly through the mountainside. The fire moved down the cliffs, consuming pine trees and creating heavy smoke in the valley.

During the incident, an eleven-year-old girl attempted to assist her elderly grandfather by helping him move toward a riverbank to escape the flames. She used water from a garden irrigation tank to create a barrier against the encroaching fire.
