Wildfires affect multiple regions across Wales
Multiple wildfires are affecting various regions across Wales, prompting significant responses from the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
In Powys, a wildfire near Builth Wells has impacted approximately 90 hectares of land. Twelve crews from various stations, including Builth Wells and Rhayader, have been deployed to bring the blaze under control.
On Drummau Mountain above Skewen, a wildfire burned through the night, causing visible flames across the Neath Valley. Firefighters from several stations, including Neath and Swansea Central, worked in challenging conditions to contain the fire.
In Mayhill, a fire affecting two hectares behind Seaview school was reported. Authorities indicated that the blaze may have resulted from a series of deliberately set fires in the area. Emergency services have advised residents to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke and to avoid affected areas to allow for safe operations.
