Wildfires erupt in Antalya and Muğla provinces of Turkey

Wildfires have broken out in the southern Turkish provinces of Antalya and Muğla, prompting emergency responses to protect residential areas and forest ecosystems.

In the Kaş district of Antalya, a fire ignited in the shrubland and forest areas near the İkizce neighborhood. Emergency teams, including helicopters, planes, and ground crews from the Antalya Forest Regional Directorate, are working to prevent the flames from reaching nearby homes. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze.

Simultaneously, a fire erupted in the Menteşe district of Muğla within the Çiftlik neighborhood's red pine forests. Driven by wind and dry vegetation, the fire spread quickly, prompting the Muğla Forest Regional Directorate to deploy water tankers, heavy machinery, and forest workers. Aerial firefighting efforts are being coordinated with ground teams to establish containment lines and protect local settlements.
