Wildfires impact Velletri and Lequile regions in Italy

Multiple large-scale fires are currently impacting different regions of Italy. In Velletri, a massive blaze has broken out in the southern area near the municipal kennel, affecting hectares of agricultural land, olive groves, and rural structures. Firefighters and Civil Protection teams are working to contain the flames, which are being driven by dry vegetation and wind.

Simultaneously, a major fire has erupted at the Ecocentro in Lequile, involving a plastic material storage facility and surrounding wooded areas. Seven firefighting teams from Lecce, supported by resources from Brindisi, Taranto, and the Air Force, are managing the incident. Due to the combustion of plastic materials, authorities have advised local residents to keep windows and doors closed and to turn off air conditioning systems to avoid smoke inhalation.
