Balkan region reports multiple fires in vehicles, national parks, and recycling centers

Various fire incidents have been reported across the Balkan region. In Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, a vehicle fire on Hasan Bećirović Street resulted in one car being completely destroyed and another damaged. Police are investigating the cause.

In Montenegro, a fire broke out in the marshlands of Skadar Lake National Park. While biodiversity is not currently threatened, officials warned that the fire could impact bird migration and habitats if it spreads through the dense vegetation.

In Serbia, authorities successfully extinguished a six-day fire on Mount Rtanj. Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić reported no casualties or property damage, though five other open-space fires remain active in the country.

In North Macedonia, the Crisis Management Center reported multiple fires, with most extinguished and one under control in the Makedonski Brod and Sopishte municipalities.

In Croatia, a fire at the Metis-Kukuljanovo recycling center in the Rijeka area prompted smoke alerts for several municipalities, including Bakar and Čavle. Authorities advised residents to keep windows closed due to the heavy smoke from secondary raw materials.
