Severe wildfires are currently impacting Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, driven by extreme heat and difficult terrain.

In Serbia, 22 active fires have been reported. The largest blaze is in the Deliblatska Peščara nature reserve, which has burned over 2,000 hectares. Another significant fire on Stolovi mountain near Kraljevo has affected approximately 200 hectares. While the situation in Deliblatska Peščara is improving, authorities note that the terrain remains difficult. Experts have highlighted a critical shortage of approximately 3,000 firefighters in Serbia to meet safety standards.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state of natural disaster has been declared in Konjic due to uncontrolled forest fires spreading toward Džepska mountain. The fires have destroyed abandoned houses and stables in the Živašnica area. Firefighting efforts are severely hampered by steep, inaccessible terrain and strong winds, making ground operations dangerous. Local officials have requested international assistance, specifically aerial support such as water bombers, to prevent the fire from spreading further toward Sarajevo Canton.
