Cerveteri and Ladispoli lose power after fire damages primary electric cabinet

A large fire broke out near the A12 highway in the Cerveteri area, severely damaging a primary electric cabinet that supplies electricity to Cerveteri, Campo di Mare and part of Ladispoli. The blaze caused a widespread blackout and voltage swings, leaving thousands without power during the summer heat.

Mayor Elena Gubetti, assessor Matteo Luchetti, engineer Flavio Nunnari and E‑Distribuzione officials coordinated the response together with Carabinieri, State Police, fire crews, local police and civil‑protection teams. Firefighters are working to extinguish the flames and secure the surrounding area while technical teams assess the extent of the damage. No timeline has yet been set for restoring service, and officials asked residents not to overload the outage‑report line.

No injuries have been reported, but the outage has disrupted traffic, commerce and daily life for commuters and local businesses.
