William Ruto defends infrastructure projects against Sifuna's criticism

President William Ruto has criticized Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna following the senator's warnings to Kenyans regarding the government's focus on large-scale development projects.

Speaking in Ngong, Ruto defended the administration's emphasis on building roads, markets, affordable housing, and electricity connectivity, arguing that these are essential for nation-building. He accused Sifuna and his supporters of undermining development and dismissed their criticisms as mere insults and slogans.

This exchange follows Sifuna's warning that citizens should not be deceived by “glittering” or “shiny” projects such as stadiums and railways while critical issues like security, human rights, and constitutionalism remain unaddressed. Sifuna argued for a government that prioritizes the safety and wellbeing of Kenyans over physical infrastructure.
