Windsor Police launch online tool to combat human trafficking

The Windsor Police Service has launched a new campaign and online reporting tool designed to combat human trafficking. To increase community awareness, signs featuring descriptions of trafficking indicators and a QR code linking to the reporting tool have been placed on Transit Windsor buses and at bus shelters.

Inspector David DeLuca noted that the initiative aims to help the community recognize signs of exploitation, such as individuals becoming suddenly withdrawn or isolated from friends and family. The tool is intended to reduce barriers to reporting and connect victims with regional support services. In 2026, Windsor police have laid 43 charges related to eight separate human trafficking cases in Windsor and Amherstburg, noting that many victims are under the age of 16.
