Canadian police services have implemented various awareness and enforcement initiatives to combat human trafficking.

In late July 2026, the Ottawa Police Service partnered with the Ottawa International Airport and the ‘Not In My City’ campaign to improve public awareness and staff training. Concurrently, the Durham Regional Police Service reported conducting 1,332 investigations between 2021 and 2025 and participated in an Ontario-wide multi-agency enforcement initiative that identified 98 people in the sex trade.

By mid-August 2026, the Windsor Police Service expanded community efforts by launching an online reporting tool and a public awareness campaign. This initiative utilizes signage on transit buses to help citizens recognize indicators of exploitation. Windsor police reported laying 43 charges related to eight separate trafficking cases in 2026, noting that many victims are under the age of 16.
