Windstorm forces over 100 emergency responses in Friuli Venezia Giulia

A strong windstorm hit the Friuli Venezia Giulia region on the night of 22‑23 June 2026, prompting the regional fire department to carry out more than 100 emergency interventions. The actions focused on securing fallen trees, damaged roofs and other structures across the provinces of Pordenone, Udine and Gorizia.

The Pordenone command logged 40 interventions, while Udine recorded 47, and Gorizia about 15. Around 50 additional requests remained pending for daylight assessment. Volunteers from the civil protection agency assisted the fire crews. No injuries were reported, although an overturned tree struck a car in Pordenone and a large plant damaged the historic San Giorgio parish bell tower.

The wind caused widespread damage to vegetation, building coverings and road safety, leading authorities to continue clearing and safety checks throughout the following day.
