Wine producers in Portugal and Brazil launch international market expansions

Wine producers from Portugal and Brazil are launching international promotion initiatives to expand their market presence.

In Portugal, the Alentejo Regional Wine Commission (CVRA) is expanding its Alentejo Wine Festival to Salvador and Rio de Janeiro. This follows a 9% increase in export volume to Brazil during the first eight months of the year. The initiative aims to connect producers with Brazilian consumers and industry professionals.

Simultaneously, ViniPortugal is conducting promotional tastings in Houston and San Francisco. These events, part of a 2026 promotion plan, aim to strengthen the visibility of Portuguese wines in the United States by engaging approximately 300 professionals and 500 consumers.

In Brazil, the Rio Grande do Sul wine industry is increasing its footprint at ProWine São Paulo. Represented by Consevitis-RS and Sebrae RS, a collective stand will feature 43 wineries from the Serra Gaúcha, Serra do Sudeste, and Campanha Gaúcha regions to showcase the state's viticultural diversity.
