Winnie the Pooh celebrates 100th anniversary with global projects
Winnie the Pooh celebrates the 100th anniversary of the original book's debut on October 14, 2026. Disney has launched the ‘Pooh Time’ project, which encourages people to embrace moments of ‘doing nothing’ to find peace in busy lives.
In Japan, special ambassadors Sho Sakurai, Ryohei Abe (Snow Man), and Kureeru Kawashima (Travis Japan) are leading the campaign. They participated in a ‘Mori no Ohanashikai’ event at Tokyo Port City Takeshiba and are hosting a ‘Pooh Time Radio’ series on Disney’s official YouTube channel to discuss the importance of being oneself.
Global celebrations include a wide range of merchandise. Ty has released a Winnie the Pooh collection featuring Beanie Babies, while Disney is offering various products such as LEGO sets, Loungefly bags, and holiday-themed plush mystery boxes at Walt Disney World. Tokyo Disney Resort is also featuring new baby goods, including Mickey and Minnie-themed bibs and gauze handkerchiefs.
