Świnoujście implements debt restructuring and marina upgrades

The city of Świnoujście is implementing several administrative and infrastructural changes. To improve its fiscal position, the city is restructuring debt incurred during previous administrations. By negotiating new terms with PKO BP, the city expects to save approximately 2 million PLN in debt servicing costs, which will be redirected toward public tasks such as street repairs and health programs. This involves the issuance of approximately 173 million PLN in bonds to repay existing debt from 2020–2022.

In terms of infrastructure, a major redevelopment project is planned for the Northern Basin (Basen Północny) marina. The project will introduce 21 new floating pontoons supported by steel piles, increasing yacht capacity from 220 to 470 berths, along with 54 spaces for jet skis.

Additionally, the Świnoujście Spa Statute is being updated to reflect current realities. The changes include updating the list of health treatment facilities by removing six inactive entities and adding two new ones: Sanatorium Uzdrowiskowe ‘Bałtyk’ and Sanatorium Uzdrowiskowe ‘Senator’. The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the area continues to meet the legal requirements for spa status.
