Świnoujście municipal revitalization and development

The city of Świnoujście is pursuing various revitalization and administrative initiatives. Initial plans focused on the Basen Północny area, aiming to create a hub for sailing, maritime history, and education by preserving the heritage of the former Royal Shipyard. This project includes restoring a water tower, retrieving the historic ferry ‘Gryfia’, and reviving traditional riveting techniques, with the city seeking approximately 3.5 million euros in Norwegian and EEA funds.

Subsequent developments involve broader municipal management, including debt restructuring to save approximately 2 million PLN in servicing costs through negotiations with PKO BP. These savings are intended for public tasks such as health programs and street repairs. Additionally, the city is moving forward with infrastructure upgrades at the Northern Basin marina, planning to increase yacht capacity from 220 to 470 berths. The city is also updating its Spa Statute to reflect current health treatment facilities, with the Ministry of Health confirming the area maintains its legal spa status.
