Winschoten hosts free Pentecost market‑square concert and park health day

On Pentecost Sunday, Winschoten’s Marktplein will hold the fourth edition of the "Sterren op het Marktplein" festival. The free, open‑air event begins at 16:00 under a large tent and features live music from local acts such as Tukker FM, De Esperando’s and the DJ duo Nieck & Cortizo. Organisers expect good weather and a large regional crowd.

The day before, the town’s Stadspark hosted the "Dag van het Park" with a health‑focused program. Attendees could try a smoothie‑making bike, receive free lifestyle checks, and learn about nutrition and exercise. Local groups offered information on walking challenges, cycling safety and sports activities for children and adults, creating a community showcase of clubs and wellbeing services.
