Democratic Socialist Rep. Francesca Hong has emerged as the clear front‑runner in the Wisconsin governor’s primary, with betting markets assigning her a roughly 70 % chance of winning the Democratic nomination. Other contenders include Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, former Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, and several lower‑profile candidates.

Governor Tony Evers, who had previously declined to endorse any candidate, broke his silence on July 18 by backing Crowley, who re‑entered the race after the withdrawal of Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez amid a campaign‑finance scandal.
