Wisconsin weather trends show mild October and warm winter outlook

Southeast Wisconsin is experiencing an unseasonably mild October, with average temperatures through October 21 reaching 59 degrees. This marks the 13th warmest start to the month on record. While a cold front is expected to bring temperatures back to the 50s early next week, highs in the 70s may persist through the weekend.

The NOAA winter outlook for December, January, and February suggests very mild temperatures for much of the northern United States due to a continuing El Niño. Precipitation forecasts for Southeast Wisconsin show equal chances for both wetter and drier conditions, while Northeast Wisconsin and northern Michigan have a slightly higher probability of a drier winter.
