Wise integrates with PayNet to enable DuitNow QR and transfers in Malaysia
Wise has completed a direct integration with Malaysia's national payments network PayNet, allowing its customers to use the country's DuitNow QR standard and DuitNow Transfer service. Users can scan DuitNow QR codes in the Wise app to pay merchants and can send funds instantly using a recipient’s mobile number, NRIC, army ID or business registration number, with the recipient’s name shown for verification before confirmation.
The rollout is progressive; the feature is live but full support for all DuitNow QR codes nationwide is expected within the coming weeks. Early tests reported occasional scan failures, which Wise says will be resolved as the service expands. The integration makes Malaysia the ninth market globally and the fifth in Asia‑Pacific where Wise has direct access to a domestic payment system, strengthening cross‑border financial activity for travelers and residents alike.
