Wisin launches Universidad del Perreo music and education project

Puerto Rican reggaeton artist Wisin has launched ‘Universidad del Perreo’, a multifaceted project combining a new 12-track album with an educational platform for urban music. Released under his label, La Base Music Group, the album aims to return to the genre’s original sounds and features collaborations with industry legends including Ivy Queen, Don Chezina, Jowell & Randy, and Trébol Clan.

Beyond the music, the project serves as an educational initiative. Wisin, acting as ‘Profesor Sandunga’, has organized a virtual and physical curriculum where various artists serve as instructors for subjects such as vocal technique, leadership, and music production. The initiative includes masterclasses and in-person courses planned for cities including Puerto Rico, Miami, Bogotá, and Mexico City.

The campaign has already garnered over 2 million subscribers through its official website, which offers exclusive content and access to the project’s educational components. Colombian artist Kapo has been recognized as the first ‘graduate’ of this musical movement.
