Wizz Air adds 77 extra flights for Budapest Champions League final

Wizz Air deployed a major operational surge for the UEFA Champions League final in Budapest, operating almost 80 additional flights over three days. The carrier flew extra services between Budapest, London and Paris, moving roughly 450 aircraft movements at Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport and transporting about 100,000 passengers. The airline reported a 99.9% load factor on the supplementary flights, which were handled by more than 400 pilots and crew without service disruption.

The effort represents one of the airline’s largest short‑term capacity increases in its history, highlighting the logistical challenge of accommodating a major sporting event in the Hungarian capital.
