Wizz Air adds new summer routes in Bulgaria and Romania

Wizz Air announced the launch of several new direct summer routes from Bulgaria. Starting 7 June 2026, the airline began flights from Sofia to Corfu (Greece) and from Burgas to Budapest (Hungary), followed on 8 June by a Varna‑Budapest service. The additions are part of a broader summer schedule covering 70 routes to 20 countries, with capacity increases of up to 58 % at Bulgarian bases.

In parallel, Wizz Air released its full 2026 seasonal programme for Romania, operating ten routes from Bucharest, Cluj‑Napoca and Timișoara to six Greek islands, including a new connection to Kefalonia. The Romanian network also features flights to other Mediterranean destinations such as Cyprus, Croatia, France, Italy, Spain, Malta and Turkey. The carrier serves 220 routes from 14 Romanian airports, linking the country with 83 destinations across 27 nations.

Both announcements underline Wizz Air’s strategy to expand low‑cost connectivity across Central and Eastern Europe for the busy summer travel period.
