Wizz Air and Bologna Airport renew strategic partnership

Wizz Air and Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport have renewed their long-standing strategic partnership. During a meeting at Wizz Air’s headquarters in Budapest, leadership from both organizations discussed expanding connectivity and exploring new international destinations to support the Emilia-Romagna region.

As part of this agreement, Wizz Air is set to become the second-largest airline at Bologna Airport, holding an 11.5% market share. The carrier plans to offer approximately 1.3 million seats in 2026, representing a capacity increase of more than 20% compared to 2025 levels. Since the airline began operating routes from Bologna in 2008, it has transported a total of nearly 8.5 million passengers through the airport.
