Wizz Air cancels Brașov‑Nuremberg route and handles emergency landing after bird strike in Romania

Wizz Air announced a major restructuring of its Romanian network, cancelling the direct Brașov‑Nuremberg service from this autumn. The airline also removed several other routes from Brașov, Timișoara, Craiova and Bucharest, shifting capacity to airports such as Oradea and adding a seasonal Bucharest‑Dubrovnik flight. Affected passengers will be offered refunds, credit at 120 % of the ticket price, or re‑booking on alternative airports.

On 29 June 2026 a Wizz Air flight (W4 3825) that had departed Sibiu for Madrid struck a bird shortly after take‑off. The crew diverted the aircraft to Cluj‑Napoca, where a standard technical inspection was performed. After clearance the plane resumed its journey and landed safely in Madrid. No injuries were reported and the airline apologised for the inconvenience.
