Romania conducts national traffic surveys and expands aviation routes

Romania is conducting extensive Origin-Destination traffic surveys across its national road network. Organized by the National Administration of Road Infrastructure (CNAIR), these voluntary, anonymous surveys take place at 60 locations to collect data on travel purposes, routes, and vehicle types. The findings will inform future infrastructure projects, traffic capacity planning, and road modernization efforts.

In the aviation sector, Cluj International Airport is expanding its reach. Director David Ciceo recently participated in the ACI World Board meeting in Lima, Peru, discussing global aviation trends such as digitalization and green energy. Additionally, Cluj-Napoca will resume direct flights to Abu Dhabi and Marrakesh via Wizz Air starting in late October 2026, providing new winter seasonal options for travelers.
